The Bridging Project

The Bridging Project is a team of people from Scope Victoria and the Centre for Developmental Disability Health Victoria at Monash University.

This team is interested in helping adults with complex communication needs have better mental health.

A person with complex communication needs cannot use speech to communicate so that others can understand them. Some people with complex communication needs may also have a mental illness.

A person with a mental illness may notice changes in the way they think, feel and behave. This can make it hard to cope with everyday things. It can be difficult finding the right kind of help for mental illness. It can be even more difficult to find the right help when a person does not use speech to communicate.

The Bridging Project Team wants to make services better for people who have complex communication needs and mental illness. They are doing this in many ways. This Website will give you information about what they are doing.
