Getting Involved - Barbara Haynes
Life with poor communication is hard; life with a disability and poor communication is very hard.
A very good friend has a daughter with disabilities and it was through her I came to know of Scope and offered some help. I was given some choices and although it was good to help one or two people, my preference is to help where the most number of people can benefit.
Research is one of the avenues to help numbers of people. Naturally I chose the one dealing with effective communication: The Bridging Project.
I have met the people involved in the Bridging Project and it is their commitment and attitude that has helped me see the big picture.
I am a beneficiary of the Bridging Project because of my desire to improve communication techiques in the area of complex communication needs. The Bridging Project fulfills this, what more could I ask?
